Where can I find detailed information about social service jobs and education requirements needed for them?
I am getting ready to go back to school but I need to know what kind of degree I need to work towards and the different classes I need to sign up for. I would like to work in the social service field but I need more information on the types of jobs, their descriptions, how much they pay, etc. Any information you may have or websites I can go to will help. Thanks.

Where, in the United States, are the social service jobs booming?
I am going to graduate with an Master's in Social Work and I looking to move out of New York. As you can tell, I am not oppose to moving to another state. I just don't wan to move somewhere where the job market for social service is small. Any positive advice would be helpful.
Oh yeah, New Jersey is out of the question. I am aware of their social service agencies.
Any and all major cities are going to have huge social service demands. Now if you are referring specifically to working for social services then you can also include many rural areas (as they have a much harder time finding MSW's. DA
How can I find social service jobs in savannah, GA?
I have a Bachelors degree in Social Sciences and Sociology. I'm working on my Masters in Social Work. I'm taking a break from school and relocating to Savannah but I want to continue working in the field. Currently I am a Case Manager in a Transitional Housing Program.
Hey there follow social worker. I'm a BSW and just finished my "M" as well. :) The NASW of your state should have a job board of social work jobs. http://www.naswga.org/ There's a list of opportunities there! Good luck!
Where to look for social service jobs?
I am in the social work field and looking for a job doing this or advocacy work. I have been searching the internet and newspapers for months. Any ideas, hints, leads etc would be greatly appreciated. Anywhere in the STL area. Thanks
There are lots of openings in social work but most of them really arent advertised. I would check out the web site for the St.Louis Times where a lot of agencies have job openings posted. Also check out the Rome Group online which has openings for many not for profits. If you prefer to be in the field rather than in an institutional setting, I would suggest that you check out BJC home services or several of the hospice companies. They all have had recent openings for social workers. When you talk about advocacy you might also want to consider Jobs for Justice. A job a little removed from social work but rather like an advocate is working as an organizer for SIEU the service workers union. They have openings all over the US and tend to recruit social workers. If you have a particular area that you would like to focus on, I'd contact agencies that serve that particular population. Almost all social work jobs, other than the state or VA positions are filled through networking. If you graduated from a local university school of social work, check with them to see if they have any lead for you also.
